Bakelite is a well-known thermosetting material and its chemical name of bakelite is Phenolic Resin Plastic, it has high machining strength, good insulation, heat resistance and corrosion resistance, so it is often used in the manufacture of electrical appliances Materials, such as switches, lamp holders, headphones, telephone cases, instrument cases, etc., are named after this. Bakelite is the standard for relative machinability compared to all other plastic material. It has a machining cost factor of 0.6 when compared to steel 12L14. It can be forged or hot worked but is not ideal for welding or soldering.Bakelite commonly used for jig and fixtures. |
