What kind of tool is used to machining stainless steel material?
We all know that stainless steel is a difficult material to process, has a large work hardening tendency, high high temperature strength, and increased shear stress in the shear slip zone, so that the total cutting resistance is increased, thereby increasing tool wear. Therefore, it is very important to choose the right stainless steel processing tool. |
When cutting stainless steel materials, according to their characteristics: viscosity, no heat transfer, low hardness, etc., so when processing stainless steel:
- 1-To be cooled with chip liquid
- 2-Select easy to sharpen sharp cutting tools
- 3-chip speed is not easy to high
- 4-Select the appropriate cutting tool
Therefore, processing stainless steel tools should be preferred
Wrought by YW1 and YW2 turning tools, W2 hardness ≥91.0 wear resistance is second only to W1, but its use strength is high, can withstand large impact load, suitable for heat-resistant steel high manganese steel stainless steel and high-grade alloy steel thick Machining semi-finishing, also suitable for ordinary steel and cast steel. Without W1/W2, G8 turning tools are also suitable for stainless steel.
Stainless steel sticking knife, proper cooling and cooling is necessary. It is best to use YG8 tungsten-cobalt alloy or YW1, YW2, YW3 tungsten-cobalt-niobium alloy cutter head for processing 304, 316 stainless steel parts. Different alloy cutter heads can be selected according to specific conditions: YG8 (K20K30) Hardness ≥ 90 is suitable for rough machining of cast iron and non-ferrous metals, and is also suitable for rough machining of stainless steel.
YW1 (M10) hardness ≥ 91.5 is suitable for the processing of hard-to-machine steel such as heat-resistant steel, steel, stainless steel and alloy steel. It is also suitable for the processing of ordinary steel and cast iron. YW2 (M20) hardness ≥90.5 is suitable for heat-resistant steel The processing of difficult-to-machine steel such as high-manganese steel, stainless steel and alloy steel is also suitable for the processing of ordinary steel and cast iron. YW3 (M10M20) hardness ≥ 92 is used for finishing and semi-finishing of stainless steel, alloy steel, high strength steel and ultra high strength steel. It can also be roughed under low impact force.
