Compared to the common three-axis (3 degrees of freedom of x, y, and z), 5-axis machining refers to the cnc machining of a tool that can be positioned and connected in 5 degrees of freedom when machining parts with complex geometry.
5-axis machining is commonly used in the aerospace industry to machine body parts, turbine parts, and impellers with free-form surfaces.
